  • Steel-made
  • 48"
  • 4 tiered vertical garden planter
  • Outdoor use only
  • Suitable for plants and vegetables

Steady Home’s 4 Tier Planter is a space-saving outdoor vertical planter whose best feature – in our opinion – is the fact it can be hung from a wall secured on the floor. So it can act as a living wall planter or a ground-based vertical garden.

Complete with:

  • 3 x Triangle Planters
  • 1 x Bottom Square Planter
  • Hangers
  • Hardware and Assembly instructions

And the in-built drainage holes allow for cascading irrigation. So when you water the top layer the layers below receive the same sustenance.

Taleco Gear’s Raised Garden Bed is more of your classic vertical planter. Perfect for balconies and urban gardening, Taleco’s tiered planter is superb quality.

The wheels make for perfect all weather gardening. If you want to plant annuals rather than perennials – or plants that are susceptible to harsher weather – just wheel them inside when the going gets tough. Think of them as your elderly relatives.

Paul’s Potato Starter Kit is without doubt the best named vertical planter. But that’s not all  we love about it. If you’re looking to break your vegetable growing virginity – and aren’t blessed with a huge amount of space – this potato planter is perfect.

It’s sturdy, grows a huge yield per square metre and is perfect for both root vegetables – potatoes and carrots – and fruits like strawberries.

Deaices 5 Tier Vertical Planters

The best quality plastic vertical planter

5/5

Wayfair

Deaices Stackable Planters
£ 249
99
  • Plastic pots
  • 30" x 14" x 14"
  • 8kg
  • Self-watering
  • Outdoor use preferred
  • Suitable for plants & vegetables

Deaices Plastic Vertical Planters is a self-watering, stackable planter that’s surprisingly sturdy for plastic. Its fade and frost resistant nature makes it suitable for all seasons.

And the self-watering system isn’t just a tray of water at the bottom of the planter. The smart system can be set to water daily or weekly whilst the rest of the water is stored. The drainage holes also prevent over-watering and minimise water usage.

And each tier has pre-drilled centre holes which can be used to link up a hydroponic system. So it is a really simple, multi-functional piece of kit.

Zipcode Design Wooden Wall Planter

The best looking vertical planter

5/5

Wayfair

Zipcode Design Wooden Wall Planter
£ 159
99
  • Rust and weather proof wooden material
  • 75cm x 83cm x 15cm
  • 13kg
  • Outdoor use only
  • Suitable for plants and vegetables

Wayfair’s Zipcode Wooden Wall Planter – like everything Wayfair related – is excellent quality. And aesthetically my personal favourite vertical planter.

The wood is both sustainably sourced and weather and rust resistant. Of which we’d expect nothing less. And each one has natural variation that comes in the form of grain and colour variations.

You could use this planter indoor if you’re a huge fan of the wooden look. But as it’s weather and rust resistant, it’s a balcony classic.

Jessica Wood's Vertical Garden

The best stackable vertical planter (for living walls)

4/5

Wayfair

Jessica Wood Vertical Garden
£ 309
99
  • Wooden, well-drained material
  • 60cm x 90cm x 45cm
  • 17kg
  • Outdoor use only
  • Suitable for plants and vegetables

Wayfair’s Jessica Wood Vertical Garden is a beautiful two-part wooden planter that has a lovely trellis-like effect.

The wood has been treated against rot and whilst the screens in the picture aren’t included – mores the pity – the planters are lovely. And you can always add a screen another time.
